Fluxblog #278: MTV VMA Power Hour • Indietronica 08-13 & After Punk 80-83 Playlists
SAVE THE DATE!
On Thursday August 28th starting at 8 PM ET I'll be co-hosting a MTV Video Music Awards retrospective power hour on Twitch with my friends Molly Mary O'Brien and Chris Wade of the And Introducing podcast. If you don't know, a power hour is a video clip drinking game in which you're meant to take a drink after each one minute clip – in this case, classic performances from the MTV Video Music Awards edited together in chronological order through the entire history of the show going back to 1984. I curated this and Molly edited it, and it's kinda wild to watch 35 years of pop history flash by in an hour. If you're unfamiliar with Twitch, it's basically a live video broadcast with a chat room on the side where you can react and interact with everyone else tuning in. Booze is obviously totally optional!
