There's no regular posts this week as I customarily take off the week the survey comes out, but there's still a bunch of new things I'd like to share or remind you about. The latest free episode of the Fluxpod features Sean T Collins. We basically did a live "liner notes" for BURNING INSIDE: INDUSTRIAL 1986-1994, the playlist we put together recently as an introduction to/celebration of the genre. The other free episode this week features Tumblr managing editor Cates Holderness, and in that one we go through all the big music trends on that platform in the past year. You can find these episodes on all the big podcast platforms, and you can subscribe to the Fluxpod Patreon to get a feed with all the free episodes plus 4-5 exclusive episodes every month. Here's a new playlist called WHAT WAS BLOGHOUSE? (OR BLOGHAUS? OR BLOG HOUSE?) 2005-2009. This one features all your sleazy favorites from that bygone era, which turns out to be a very nostalgic time for a lot of older millennials. [Spotify | Apple] As a reminder, here's a few other recent playlist projects... FLUXBLOG 2020 SURVEY - a panoramic view of music through the past year across all genres, a must if you want to catch up on what's been going on. [Spotify / Apple] Also here's a couple more 2020 playlists focused on specific genres... R&B 2020 [Spotify / Apple] DISCO 2020 [Spotify / Apple] If you need a really good and groovy Christmas playlist, you should throw on HAVE YOURSELF A FUNKY LITTLE CHRISTMAS, which is focused on R&B/funk holiday songs from the 20th Century. [Spotify / Apple] I typically listen to a lot of reggae and rocksteady around the holiday season, and this playlist ARMAGIDEON TIMES: JAMAICA IN THE 70s features most of my big favorites. It's a great introduction to this music if you've never really dived into it before. [Spotify / Apple] Also, I feel like this one might have fallen through the cracks when I first posted it a little while ago, but here's the 1966 FLUXBLOG SURVEY, which covers a very pivotal time in pop history. [Spotify / Apple] You can find many more playlists I've made through 2020 on Spotify and Apple via links on this page. If you like these playlists, or the podcasts, or the posts on the site please do share them! This is not a corporate thing, there's no partnerships, there's nothing advertising any of this, so any of these things getting to people in the world depends on word of mouth. It's a safe assumption that the vast majority of people out there who might like the things I make have no idea these things exist, and I appreciate it whenever people spread the word.
